Talentbase User Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 1, 2011

This Privacy Policy applies to Talentbase services only. We do not exercise control over sites that use Talentbase services. Also, please note that this Privacy Policy may change from time to time. We will post any Privacy Policy changes on this page.

Information collected by us

Personally identifiable information is information that can be used to identify you individually or to contact you directly. This may include, but is not limited to, your name, phone number, email address and mailing address. This information may be collected by us when you volunteer such information; for example, when you submit your resume or when you send an email communication to Talentbase

Non-personally identifiable information is typically utilized in aggregate form and cannot be used to identify you individually or contact you directly. We collect the following non-personally identifiable information:

  • Cookies - As is standard practice online, Talentbase uses cookies to help provide you with a consistent experience as well as to help advertisers and publishers serve and manage ads across the web. Cookies are small files containing a string of characters that may be placed on your computer or other device to uniquely identify your browser.
  • Pixel Tags - We may also use pixel tags, web beacons, clear GIFs or similar means in connection with our services and to collect usage, demographic and geographical location data. This code is ordinarily not visible to users and may be associated with cookies.
  • Log Information - When you visit sites utilizing Talentbase services, our servers automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website. These server logs may include information such as your web request, Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser.
  • Links - Talentbase may present links in a format that enables us to keep track of whether these links have been followed.

Certain non-personally identifiable information would be considered a part of personally identifiable information if it were combined with other identifiers (e.g., combining your zip code with your street address) in a way that enables you to be identified. But the same pieces of information are considered non-personally identifiable information when they are taken alone or combined only with other non-personally identifiable information.

Why we collect information

Talentbase collects the information discussed above to provide you with a better experience and to improve the quality of our services (e.g., storing user preferences, improving relevancy of advertisements, tracking user trends, such as how people apply for jobs, etc.).

Your choice

You have the option to disable cookies by changing the options in your browser to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from the websites you visit.

Information sharing disclosure

Talentbase only shares personally identifiable information with other companies or individuals outside of Talentbase in the following circumstances:

  • When we have your consent. We always require opt-in consent for the sharing of any personally identifiable information.
  • To affiliated companies or trusted businesses or persons. We require that these parties agree to follow our instructions and are in compliance with this Privacy Policy and any other appropriate security measures.
  • We have a good faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of such information is reasonably necessary to:
    • Satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request,
    • Enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations thereof,
    • Detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues, or
    • Protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of Talentbase, its users or the public as required or permitted by law.

If Talentbase becomes involved in a merger, acquisition, or any form of sale of some or all of its assets, we will ensure the confidentiality of any personal information involved in such transactions and provide notice before personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

We may share with third parties certain pieces of aggregated, non-personally identifiable information, such as the number of users who searched for a particular term, for example, or how many users clicked on a particular advertisement. Such information does not identify you individually.

Data security

We maintain physical, electronic, and administrative safeguards to protect all our data from accidental, unauthorized or unlawful access, use, modification, disclosure, loss, or destruction. The data is kept on a secure server and we restrict access to the data solely to authorized users. No security measures, however thorough, are perfect and there can be no absolute assurance of security and therefore, we cannot and do not offer an absolute guarantee or warrant the security of the information we possess.
